World Cinema Showcase

The New Zealand Film Festival Trust is pleased to welcome you to the 11th World Cinema Showcase, now well established as the little film festival that we organisers of the annual mid-winter International Film Festivals organise - when we're not organising the big one. The objectives are basically the same as those of the Festivals, to provide exposure for some of the exceptional films and filmmakers who aren't assured a release in New Zealand's small, but crowded market. The Showcase Is complementary to the Festival - and every film we're presenting here is one we've come upon in the course of programming the big event. Usually it's the timing that makes all the difference - though sometimes it's sheer serendipity.
